Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone is recovering for the big Soccer weekend!! (especially our accident prone Hannah :-( )
Olivia is home sick today still running a fever and I am  cleaning up the house after emptying out the car and throwing everything into the house  last night!!

I would like to thank everyone for all there help on the weekend.  It shows that us parents can work as a team off the pitch so the girls can enjoy there time on the pitch!!

First I would like to thank David for providing a venue for all of us all to meet.  If it wasn't for his dream to pass on his knowledge and love of the sport on the weekend wouldn't have been possible.  Also for running his academies with a few less coaches so we could have them!! We hoped that David could join us this year but since he was down a few coaches it meant he had to fill in their spots, hopefully next year!! Also Angelina for all her assistance with players details, equipment ect, without her none of this would have been possible!

Next I would like to thank Pat for all his hard work with the girls over the past few years.  It is very apparent that the girls skills have all taken off and they are starting to really understand their roles on the Pitch.
Unfortunately he couldn't be 3 places at once.  Fortunately for DOC united and our girls we had 2 AWESOME coaches in Jason and John who did a fantastic job with our U11 and U13 teams!!
Also it was great to see them all embrace the spirit of and all GIRL tournament and let the girls dress them up in  in crazy pink  hats,  boa's, glasses ect!!!  I am missing a few items so I think maybe they enjoyed wearing them so much that they may have taken them home to wear  ;-)

We have come a very long way when you think we barely put in 2 teams last year,only Cassie, Mia, Emilia, Olivia and Anthea attended Total girl in 2009 and 5 girls in the U16's last year.  This year we had 29 girls playing in the tournament and over80 people including players, parents and siblings join us this year.

A few of us did stay for the closing ceremonies, to my shock our very inexperienced U11B team coached by Jason came in second place with a record of 3-1-2 and the last 4 games we won 3 and drew 1!! The girls were very happy to have Pat and our cheerleaders Mia, Emilia and Ella on the sidelines with their pom pom's during a few of the games!!!

I was sad that I didn't get to see the U13's play much because of the distance and time of the games, but I did see a few and how well all the girls played, I am not sure of the results of each game but it looked like everyone was having a great time and I was very impressed with how much they have all improved this pass year.  The U13's placed 5th this year.  I have been calling Emilia my Almost girl since last years total girl because she almost scored many goals,
I am so happy I can say she has lost that nickname and I was glad I was there to see her score a GOAL!!!

I would be happy to organize this next year.  The process starts in Sept with the Registration of teams in OCT so expect an email, text or phone call then.  Accommodation for such a large # is difficult so once the dates for next year are out we can get booking straight away.  Total girl will release the date of next years event in a few weeks.
